FUMC Sponsored Scouts

Scouting BSA

Boy Scouts of America has become “Scouting BSA” and now has a program for young women. FUMC’s Troop 550 is assessing interest for adding a group for girls to its ongoing activities. And, it’s not too late to start as a high school student and become an Eagle Scout. (Nick Bazett did it!) Please see Kevin Cooksy if you might be interested!

What’s in it for the kids? Games, activities, camping, hiking, arts and crafts, leadership opportunities, service projects, and much more!

What’s in it for the parents? Opportunities to see your child grow and interact with other kids and work toward achieving their goals. It also gives them a sense of teamwork and belonging. Above all, SCOUTING IS FUN.

Tried and proven methods of building character, traditional values, and the development of leadership skills are applied in a fun and supportive environment.
