F.A.I.T.H.

The primary purpose of FAITH (Feeding and Inspiring the Homeless) is to coordinate volunteers to provide food for the homeless at serveral sites in El Dorado County. Contact Mike Parr, 530.676.1468 or 530.333.5787, for more information.

The Upper Room

Foothills Church sends adult and youth helpers to the Placerville Upper Room Dining Hall to cook and serve the hungry on the first Sunday afternoon of the month as well as on Wednesday afternoons.

Volunteers in Mission

Volunteers in Mission (VIM) provides mission service throughout the world to help those in need.

Members of Foothills UMC will be returning to Vancleave, Mississippi to help with the continuing hurricane recovery. The trip is planned for October 18-24, 2009. If you are interested in joining in the mission, contact Marilyn or Jim Long at 530.676.1798.

SHARE Food Pantry

Foothills UMC supports the food pantry located at Federated Church in Placerville by donating canned food and dry staples. Place your donations in the box located in the entrance of the church.

Pastor's Discretionary Fund

Can you imagine having to choose between eating and having electricity, or between washing your clothes or having money to put gas in your car to drive to work with? Pastor Dave meets people with these problems every week. Your gifts to this fund help to prevent these choices from having to be made. Make checks out to FUMC and indicate that it goes to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund. There are also offeratory baskets available during communion to make contributions to this fund.

Epiphany White Gift Service

One of the most moving services is the tradition of a White Gift service on Epiphany Sunday. The Holy family and Wise Men are present to receive gifts in the name of baby Jesus. The gifts, wrapped in white, are donated to various local organizations needing assistance.
